There are three interchangeable lenses included in the basic set, suitable for viewing almost any object - butterfly antennae, crystal structures from the earth or the chemistry lab, fingerprints with their tiny sweat glands, living protozoans swimming in their micro-environment, or even regular prepared microscope slides. The SOAR can also be used like a regular video camera by using the basic "1X" lens to produce non-magnified images on the TV screen. |
|
| It is
small, durable, and versatile. It can freeze an image on TV with
the press of a button. There are several ways to illuminate a
sample. The images can be recorded with a regular VCR.
It appeals to students instantly. They want to discover everything about the familiar but microscopic would around them. Little if any specimen preparation is required and precious classroom time is saved.
