SOAR Loan Program Sponsored
by Louisiana State University through
a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to support Scope-on-a-Rope is available for loan to Louisiana educators.
Qualifications for Use of the Scope-on-a-Rope:
Any Louisiana teacher involved with science curriculum in a public, private, or parochial K-12 school within the state, or an administrator wishing to promote science education within his/her school, is eligible to request use of the instrument. Other individuals or groups who are eligible to check out the instrument include people involved in science camps, museum student activities, and others involved with teaching science to K-12 students, though not formally associated with a Louisiana school.
We have established several different ways to make the Scope-on-a-Rope available to Louisiana K-12 students. Among these methods are:
In return for use of the
SOAR, we require completion of a short questionnaire on student demographics
and participation, and request any input individual teachers may have
toward lesson plans.
